Remembering with Honor

On May 30th, Memorial Day, we remember those military men and women who died serving their country. Many memorials are held on this day to honor our fallen men and women. We ask that you take the time to share the importance of our military members who helped to keep our country safe and free.
The children were asked to use their favorite iPad app to come up with a poster, picture, or meme to honor our soldiers.  Here are a few:

Up, Up and Away!

It always amazes us how “high” our students have risen during the school year academically, physically and socially. But unfortunately it is time to let our “babies” move on up and continue their journey to reach for the stars. And we know they can do it!

Our students from last year showed us just how high they can go during their study of space. It is out of this world!

To Do List: Technology

Yes technology! If you are not already using technology in the classroom, consider adding it to your To Do list for the summer. There are lots of programs and apps out there that can be easily incorporated into the early childhood classroom. This post showcases children’s work and activities using technology and with just a little bit of effort and time, you too can use these programs too!

We suggest picking one or two of the programs/apps and spending some time this summer playing with them. These are some of the programs/apps that were used this year:  Voki, Chatterpix, Thing Link, Little Bird Tales, and a few others. Get a feel for what it does and how it can be integrated into your teaching and student activities. You will be surprised how easy (and fun!) it can be.

Marvelous May

The end of another school year is fast approaching and there are still so many wonderful topics to be explored! But since we were still having snow last week (Yes! Snow!), we can’t depend on the weather to help us out. L So it’s a good thing we have some themes that we can use to transform our classrooms into settings for learning about animals.

This time of year is great for studying about insects. Children can be both fascinated about and scared of insects, so giving them a chance to explore a variety of insects will satisfy their curiosity and hopefully alleviate some of their fears.

Ocean animals are another great topic of study. Discovering the “secrets” about the animals that live underwater is a terrific way to get ready for the summer months.

We know there are many other topics that are great for the end of the year, but we hope you will be able to use some of our products to enhance your study about insects and/or ocean animals in marvelous May!
