Animals in Winter

As teachers with Texas blood running through our veins, the freezing cold temperatures we have experienced these past couple of weeks have led us to a deeper understanding of why some animals hibernate. We tried to get our four and five year olds to buy into hibernating all day at school, but no such luck. They were very interested though in what animals do hibernate during the season of winter and what other animals do when it is so cold outside. Lots of discussions and activities ensued from the warmth of a heated classroom. We are still hoping the hibernation idea will take. J

Travel Destination: Russia

Folkart, culture, and history are major attractions in the country of Russia, but there are many beautiful landmarks and country sides to enjoy as well.
There are so many historic places to see, places to eat, and places to shop, but we thought it would be a good idea to do a little more research.  Since we have a classroom full of wonderful information gatherers, we put them to work. They were almost as excited as we were about finding out about the biggest country in the world and the people that live there.
The information they gathered is going to be a great help on further trips. I just wish they could all come with us!
