Schöne Ferien! (Happy Holidays!)

The Beezy Teacher would like to wish you and your students a very happy holiday!

As you celebrate the holiday season with friends and family, please send a thought and a prayer to all of our military men and women who cannot be with their families during the holidays. And especially with the recent events, a wish for Peace and Goodwill to all.

Don’t forget to rest and relax in preparation for a new and eventful year. See you in 2016!

Rockin' Reindeer

Santa is not the only focus for the holiday season, we think his reindeer deserve lots of attention for all the hard work they do too! We’ve had lots of fun with art projects, math activities and reading about reindeer, both fictional and non-fictional. It’s a busy and stressful time of year for us all (teachers and students!), so hopefully some of these ideas can keep you and your class “rockin” for the last few days of school before the holiday break!

May the Force Be With You!

We don’t know how many Star Wars fans there are out there, but we are so PUMPED about the new Star Wars film coming out this month, that we wanted to share our excitement with our classes. So how do you bring a movie into the classroom and make it a learning experience that is relevant to our students and CCRSM/Common Core Standards? It is easy! There are some wonderful ideas available on Pinterest and we came up with some of our own, with a focus on the elements of fairy tales.
So bring out your inner Jedi and May the Force Be With You!

Nutty about Squirrels

We have some wonderful trees right outside our classroom windows and doors and over the past several weeks our students have been making observations about the changes with these trees. One of these trees happens to be a walnut tree and we have had a furry friend that has made some appearances in and around the area. This furry friend, a squirrel, inspired a classroom discussion about squirrels and a class request to learn more. Well, we have gone NUTTY about squirrels!
